1 Listen to your gut, be defiant, and don’t ever accept today’s norms.
2 Understand your weaknesses.
3 Make things that create ideas and spark inspiration. We have to rethink, reinspire. Wash the brain, not brainwash.
4 Traction; Get it A.S.A.P. and stay on target.
5 Do more. You have a never-ending curiosity with a never-ending to-do list.
6 When designing, design like it's for someone in your tribe, with TLC.
7 The story is another medium.
8 Without a clear message, it’s empty, although beautiful, still a shell.
9 Beauty and brains, pleasure and usability, they should go hand in hand.
10 A good designer is like a good host, anticipating the need of their guest.
11 Design for the five senses.
12 We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.
13 Remain humble and don’t be an asshole.
Of the Washington metropolitan area, I grew up thinking I would never truly be happy until the day I designed footwear; I still do. My favorite word is empathize and innovation gets too much credit, do it best. I’m a professional hustler and insanely driven. I’m passionate about people, urban culture, music, and creative solutions. The power of listening is paramount. I would rather run a game of ball than watch it any day and I believe sleep is a waste of time. I have eclectic design interests with an eagerness to absorb. I take life easy but my pleasure very seriously.
2011- Senior year of high school I had a grand epiphany: I loved sketching sneakers—why couldn’t I make it a career?
2014 - I chose to make sleep an enemy and further developed my understanding of design by adding Graphic Design to my degrees.
2017 - After an internship at Edelman Digital NYC, my desire to emerge myself in fashion, music, and footwear was revitalized.
2013 - I earned an Associate’s Degree from a community college and transferred to James Madison University to study Industrial Design.
I gained a broad range of skills including typography, prototyping, storyboarding, UX/UI, branding, fabrication etc.
2018 - I packed up my things and moved to LA for the opportunity to design with The Shoe Surgeon where I continued to grow my footwear knowledge and skills.
As cliche as it sounds, a door was opened and I fell in love with the design world and its endless applications. My ambitions grew even more.
2017 - The time had finally come, I graduated with a diversified portfolio, a B.S. in Industrial Design and B.F.A in Graphic Design.
Present - I relocated to Boston! With my expansive design experience, I set focus on becoming the best creative, designer and human I can be my time with the Reebok Classics team.
